Student Life
Traditions play a very special role in the community at Miss Porter's School. Handed down from generation to generation, these events foster friendships among students, unite the community and link students with graduates and future students. The fall traditions, such as the Circle of Light, focus on welcoming the New Girls, while the spring traditions, such as Singing in the Garden, provide an opportunity to bid the seniors farewell and wish them luck and happiness in their future endeavors. There are also many traditions that are incorporated into the commencement exercises, including the hanging of a daisy wreath and the singing of special songs.
