Spotlight on Athletics
Athletics at Porter's
Porter's Athletics Department supports the goals of all student-athletes by administering programs intended for the novice to the college-bound athlete. Our team sports enhance the school's standing among its peer schools and stimulate institutional pride and spirit. The team experience builds foundational skills of leadership, teamwork, competition, commitment, integrity, and achievement.

All athletes are expected to promote and demonstrate respect, resilience, courage, patience, and commitment among their teammates and with adults. Being an athlete assumes risk and requires confidence. We expect that our athletes will use these skills in the art of leadership as well as in the discipline of their specific sport(s).

Porter's competes in the Founders League with Choate Rosemary Hall, Hotchkiss, Kent, Kingswood-Oxford, Loomis Chaffee, Taft and Westminster schools. At the end of each season, Porter’s competes against the league’s most competitive teams in the New England Championships.

Porter’s values highly the physical, social and emotional benefits of participating in athletics and offers a wide assortment of athletic activities. Because we endorse the NEPSAC policy that discourages sport specialization, students may not repeat any one activity/sport during a school year, except for students in Dance Workshop or the Equestrian Program.
