Porter's Faculty Member Named Visiting Teacher to Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy

Miss Porter's School 's Associate Director of Admission Tricia Davol was selected as a 2012 Cannady Visiting Teacher to the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. Ms. Davol, who began her tenure at Porter’s as a Spanish teacher, was one of two educators selected for this program.
During her two weeks at the South African academy, Ms. Davol will teach classes, mentor the school's teaching and admission staff, participate in school activities and give presentations to the local community. She will also have the opportunity to experience some of the region's cultural attractions.
The William and Virginia Banks Cannady Visiting Teacher Program selects outstanding educators to serve as visiting teachers at the Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls. The program strives to enhance the international experience of the academy's teaching staff and the education of the students; to promote global awareness through established international networks and partnerships; and to increase the cultural, national, and ethnic diversity of student contact with adults.
