Miss Porter’s School’s 175th anniversary is a milestone for women’s education, as the need to educate young women to shape a changing world is as relevant and essential today as it was 175 years ago when Sarah Porter was first inspired to open her school.

In an effort to highlight the incredible impact Ancients are making on our world, we are challenging alumnae to complete 175 service projects throughout 2018. We know our Ancients are actively engaged in meaningful work by profession and/or passion, and we are eager to celebrate these efforts by showcasing them throughout our anniversary year. We will be asking Ancients to share their volunteer opportunities with us in the hopes of engaging other alumnae.

Your project does not need to be large in scope. It is not the size or shape of the project that matters, rather the spirit of doing meaningful work. It can take place in your backyard or be part of a nationwide effort; it can be a social media campaign to raise awareness for a cause, or active work at a local animal shelter, for example.
