Porter's Varsity Soccer made the long journey to Class B opponents Berkshire on a windy Wednesday afternoon. On a small, inconsistent field the team approached the game in a professional manner.
The first half was played on the opposition’s side of the field restricting them to a couple of counter attacks. The girls in green created a number of opportunities but their Keeper and backline stood firm. With less then 5 minutes played in the second half Laura Gouvin '20 hit a left foot volley to put the team 1-0 up. 20 seconds later Kyla Gallagher '20 beat two defenders before passing the ball into the net from 6 yards out. 1 minute and 30 seconds later Molly Andrews '22 put in a dangerous ball that Carlyn Kosienski '19 hit first time to put the game at 3-0. Porter's Soccer moved the ball well from back to front showing patience and initiative. Katie Konin '19, Gabby Owens '19, Meghan Keating '20 and Jenna Hall '20 once again contributed to the team’s 12th shut out in 13 games.
