Porter's notched their first win of the year in a 17-0 three inning game at Pomfret on Wednesday. The Pomfret pitcher had a hard time finding the plate in the first, which led to a ten run outburst by Porter's. Junior Jenna Hall, and sophomores Aimee Sardilli and D'vine Straughter all scored three runs.
Senior Jess Sardilli made it an easy day for the defense. She didn't give up a hit and only faced one batter over the minimum in her three innings. The only blemish was an error on a ball back to the mound. Of the ten batters she faced, she struck out seven. Junior Lucinda DeLaney backhanded a sharp ground ball and touched first to end the game. We hope to continue our momentum on another long road trip to Northfield Mount Hermon this Saturday.
