The Porter's field hockey team had a strong showing in their game against Kent on a very hot Saturday afternoon. Despite injuries and illnesses, every player on the varsity squad put their best effort into the game. Kent went up 1-0 within the first 5 minutes off a penalty corner, but they didn't notch a 2nd goal until the end of the first half. In the second half, Porter's offensive line picked up some steam, earning 6 corners. On one of the corners, forward Ruby Eisler ('21) knocked the ball into the right hand corner, but as the shot was taken, the official blew the whistle calling for another corner, so the goal unfortunately did not count. Despite the frustrating call, the Porter's team continued to pressure the Kent defense, and they played hard until the very end of the game. Kent secured the win with a 3rd goal in the last five minutes off an impressive reverse chip shot from the top of the circle. Porter's ended the game with 6 penalty corners to Kent's 7, and with 10 shots on goal to Kent's 18 shots. Nia Carroll ('22) recorded 15 saves for Porter's in her first full game in goal. Natalie Brennan ('20), Georgia Finley ('22), Morgan Pickett ('20) and Charis Ng ('20) all did a great job on defense.
