Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer made the hour long journey to play Pomfret School on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are always contesting for postseason honors, are well-coached and organized. The early stages proved to be a battle with both teams up for the challenge. After a couple of long-range efforts from Pomfret, the girls in green began to find their rhythm. Natalie Godoy '21 and Sam Halligan '21 came the closest to opening the scoring. Midway through the first half, Kyla Gallagher '20 played Halligan '21 through on goal who finished well to open the scoring. Soon after Gallagher '20 added to the tally when she contested a ball with the keeper. The second half stayed at 2-0 until the last ten minutes when Marjorie Plants '21 played in a delightful cross for Taylor Hall '22 to score her first of the season finishng a well worked team move. Shortly after Porter's added the 4th when Adi Botet '23 played a clever pass to Natalie Godoy '21 who finished from 20 yards out. Gallagher then ran on to a ball from Godoy '21 to finish the scoring. Next up, Porter's Soccer (7-0-1) host Class A and Founders league opponents, Taft on Kiki field.
