Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer made the long journey on Saturday morning to Class A opponents Convent of the Sacred Heart. The hosts played with 10 players in their half and made it very difficult for the girls in green to find any space n the attacking third, Convent stuck to their game plan and wanted to get their dangerous forward on the ball whenever they won possession. With only 14 fit players, Porter's Soccer had to dig deep to leave Greenwich with a victory. With 5 minutes remaining in the first half, Laura Gouvin '20 found Molly Andrews '22 who struck a first time shot across the keeper from 20 yards out. 5 minutes into the second half a long ball found the CSH target forward who found herself one on one and tied the game up. Porter's Soccer responded well as Andrews '21 delivered an inviting cross the Gouvin '20 finished off with a glancing header to complete the scoring.
Porter's Soccer (11-0-1) now looks forward to three home games in a row, starting with Berkshire on Wednesday at 3:15pm.
