Porter's had a successful weekend at New England's. The combined D/E division were held at Pomfret School. Porter's were seeded 3rd in the D division and played to their seeding. The weekend started successfully on Friday night with Taylor Hall ('22), Elle Lansing ('22), Lauren Schramm ('20) and Lydia Woodworth ('21) all winning their matches which meant all 7 Porter's players were through to the quarters. Haley Bloch ('21), Sarah Wagner ('20) and Meg Keating ('20) all had first round byes. Saturday saw the top three Porter's players advance to the semis with the bottom 4 all narrowly losing. Porter's was able to advance to the final in the number 2 and 3 positions, but unfortunately Haley Bloch ('21) just fell short in 4 high-quality games. In the finals, Porter's was unable to overcome their higher-seeded opponents with Sarah Wagner ('20) and Meg Keating ('20) falling in 3 and 4 games respectively. Overall it was a very good finale to a season that saw all Porter's players improve their games and represent Porter's to the highest standards. Final Tournament Positions: 1. Haley Bloch ('21) - 3rd place 2. Sarah Wagner ('20) - 2nd place 3. Meg Keating ('20) - 2nd place 4. Taylor Hall ('22) - 5th place 5. Elle Lansing ('22) - 7th place 6.
