Miss Porter's School will continue to emphasize the liberal arts - keeping true to Sarah Porter's intention - while establishing an engaging and challenging curriculum that is interdisciplinary and experiential.
Our classes are already student-centered and discussion based. We have teachers evaluating student learning through authentic assessments. We strive to make classes relevant every day. And we have taken the major step of institutionalizing these things with our InterMission program.
To take the next step in educating girls, Miss Porter's School has created two optional certificate programs that allow students to delve deeply into interdisciplinary areas in which they may be passionate and, in so doing, distinguish themselves based on their course of study and the completion of a capstone project.
"To prepare female leaders for the world they will inherit, we need to think differently about how we educate them for a not-too-distant future that will undeniably include jobs and problems and technology that we can't yet imagine."
