Miss Porter's School held commencement exercises on Friday, May 31. Parents, students, faculty, and Ancients joined in celebrating the 78 members of the Class of 2019.
After a welcome by Head of School Katherine G. Windsor and remarks by Student Head of School Lydia Gambacini '19, graduates listened to the commencement address by Darcy Mauro '83. Ms. Mauro spoke about how she has carried the lessons she learned at Miss Porter's School with her throughout her life and career, and advised the graduates that, "It is OK to not know exactly what you want to do with your life, or who you want to become. You can figure out the path that works for you, so you can be the best you."
The awarding of the diplomas was followed by several traditions, including the Hanging of the Wreath, the carrying of the Daisy Chain, and singing of school songs.
