Porter's Plays Hard and Wins Against Wilbraham & Monson
Porter's JV Tennis used the momentum from their first game against Pomfret to really kick into high gear in their match against Wilbrham and Monson this past Saturday. Nitya Shah, Paulina Azzu, Anabela Pablo were our number 1-3 singles players. Each kept their head in the game, focused on the goals they had set for themselves for their match and pulled out a win. Nitya avoided what she deemed unncecessary errors winning 8-1, Paulina played extremely hard and refused to give up against her opponent winning during a tiebreaker (11-9) after playing 7 games. Anabela, too, calmed her nerves and won her match 8-3.
Emma Monnier and Mia Gergis tried their hands at singles and each won their matches: Emma at 8-3 due to her strong serves and Mia in her exhibition match at 4-3. Our doubles players Sofia Alvarez and Dani Zamarripa played aggressively and won 8-4, Georgie Harrison and Christina Toldalagi communicated well winning 8-3, and finally Clare Porter and Eliza Nicholson strategized to hit the ball away from their opponents winning 8-2.
In all, it was a beautiful day filled with great competition. Go Porter's!
