JV Soccer starts the season out mastering Master's.

JV soccer started their season out with a home game against Master's. Under ideal weather conditions, Porter's established control early, keeping the ball consistently on the Master's half of the pitch. The defense prevented Master's from creating offensive pressure; Master's did set up several fast breaks, and the Porter's back line had to react quickly to some tense situations. One fast break resulted in a scary collision between sophomore goalkeeper Lila Conners and a Master's forward, but both players came away uninjured.

Rookies to the team made their mark early on. Arden Phoenix '21 started the scoring in the 32nd minute with an assist from Pia Davis '21. Just 4 minutes later Majorie Plants '21 earned her "Mojo" nickname by punching a shot in through the keeper's legs.

In the 46th minute, Lizzie McGrady '18 sent a beautiful through pass to Meghan Keating '20 who shot just outside. McGrady '18 followed up in the 55th minute, scoring after the Master's keeper mishandled a shot by Betty Berdan '18.

Davis '21 put the game away in the 84th minute, scoring from the corner of the box.
