JV soccer took the short ride to West Hartford for their first league match against KO. They faced stiff, physical opposition that limited Porter's ability to move the ball, but the Porter's midline was able to maintain pressure throughout the first half. Sophomore goalkeeper Lila Conners got tested a few times early but held firm, and the Porter's offense generated a few solid shots on goal. Still, though, the first half ended scoreless.
In the 50th minute, Senior captain Betty Berdan sent a beautiful pass forward to Junior Alyssa Landry, who punted it in for the only score of the match. After that it was a matter of maintaining control of the ball against increasing pressure from the KO players. Porter's was able to keep their lead, and the match ended 1-0. Sophomore Conners notched her third shut-out of the season.
