Thank you for stepping up as a leader in the Miss Porter’s School Ancient community! You are the backbone of the alumnae fundraising efforts, as the success of the Annual Fund depends largely on your dedication and commitment. Your deep support of the values of Miss Porter’s School will ensure meaningful conversations with fellow Ancients as you encourage them to give financial support annually.
As a volunteer, you set the example we hope other Ancients will follow. This leadership begins by making your annual gift to the Annual Fund. Your thoughtful action and gift ensure the mission of Miss Porter’s School will be realized for generations to come.
As a class representative, you serve as a leader for your class and are responsible for securing donations, helping to identify additional volunteer leaders, and acting as a liaison between the school and its Ancients.
Miss Porter’s is championed by more than 200 volunteers overall, and each of you plays a critical role in inspiring donor support with your phone calls, emails, notes, face-to-face meetings and social media posts. Together we can make a difference and have an impact on Miss Porter’s School today and in the future.
With many thanks for all you do to secure the present and future of Miss Porter’s School,
Fiscal Year 2019 ends on June 30, 2019. This means we have 6 months to meet our $2.65M goal and reach 40 percent Ancient participation. We need our Class Reps now more than ever, as your actions in the next few months will play a vital role in helping us succeed.
If you have not done so, please lead by example and make your gift today.
It is not too late to register and make your Assignments in the VMS. If you are choosing to reach out through other means, please do let me know if you need your class giving list.
CALL. EMAIL. TEXT.POST. Reach out to your classmates in whatever way works best for you and them.
Begin by contacting those who made a gift in FY18 (LYBUNTS). These are the low hanging fruit and most likely to make a gift again this year.
GET COMPETITIVE! See how classes around your year are performing and try to out do them. We have two awards that are given out each year for participation:
The Silver Pitcher — awarded to the non-reunion class with the largest increase in participation over the previous year. This year, the Silver Pitcher was awarded to the Class of 1972 whose work yielded an increase of 23.7% from 2017 to 2018. Congratulations!
The Annual Giving Bowl — awarded to the non-reunion class with the highest participation. The Class of 1974 reached an outstanding 57.4% participation in the Annual Fund. Congratulations!
