Social Emotional Learning

To prepare our graduates to shape a changing world, we must raise them within a positive social context where they learn to be self-aware, empathetic, and globally competent adults.

Through a series of progressive, grade-level, social-emotional learning (SEL) seminars, Porter’s students are exposed to developmentally appropriate tenets of:
  • Leadership
  • Identity and Justice
  • Global Citizenship
  • Health and wellness

Weekly classes allow students to explore their intersecting identities and enhance their understanding of diverse perspectives within a personal and global context. The foundation of this exploration is rooted in the development of empathy, resilience, connectedness, and agency.
