Weekly Recap: 4/2-4/7

Scores and highlights from April 2 through April 7.
Monday, April 2
Varsity Lacrosse vs. Choate: L 1-12
Recap: Porter's faced a talented Choate team in our opening game of the 2018 season. For much of the first half Porter's held their own, coming up with huge stops time and time again on defense. Choate's talented goalie was not letting anything by her, and while we had opportunities, we were unable to put the ball in the back of the net until the second half when Adi Jalinskas '18 scored the first and only goal of the game.

Thursday, April 5
Varsity Softball vs. Choate: L 0-10
Recap: Porter's Softball traveled to Choate on a rescheduled game on Thursday, April 5th. Porter's players battled hard throughout the game with great at-bats and lots of heart. Led by senior Gaelen Carroll and the pitching of junior Jess Sardilli, we started the game with several runners on, but we were unable to get a run on the board. Choate answered in the first inning with 3 runs on 3 hits, though Sardilli struck out the last 3 batters of the inning. Again in the second, Porter's got several runners on base, started with a hit by sophomore Natalie Brennan, but couldn't get the run in. The rest of the game followed the same story. Porter's had 5 hits in the game and drew 4 walks. Choate only managed 6 hits, but took advantage of several defensive errors to score 10 runs.
