Sydni Scott '18 and her sister, Taelor Scott, were recently honored with the Lazarex Cancer Foundation's IMPACT Award. This award is given in recognition of "individuals who have made significant contributions to the cancer space and... promote education and awareness to communities of diverse ethnic, cultural, socioeconomic, and religious backgrounds."
Sydni and Taelor, daughters of the late ESPN anchor Stuart Scott, were honored for their work raising cancer awareness through the Stuart Scott Memorial Cancer Fund and the Jimmy V Foundation. They actively support cancer research, promoting messages and connecting with cancer survivors and their families through their Twitter account, where they have more than 11,000 followers.
Sydni is a charter member of the G.I.R.L. (Growing International Resilient Leaders) Club, an active member of the Black and Latina Alliance, Sister to Sister, and the National Association of Black Journalists. She is also an accomplished athlete, competing on Porter's varsity soccer and track teams.
