    Porter's came out ready to play Wednesday afternoon but was unable to stay with a very talented NMH team.

    Porter's traveled to New Haven to take on Hopkins Wednesday late afternoon. The team pulled down 37 rebounds, had 15 assist and 20 steals.

    Despite a 21-15 lead at the half, Porter's struggled to protect the ball against Sacred Hearts full-court pressure falling to them 42-32. Leading the team was Delaney Nwachukwu '20 with 11 points, 10 rebounds, 1 steal, and 2 blocks.     Porter's beat Westminster for the second time this season 50-21. Porter's saw great minutes from all 11 players and shot the ball well, shooting 50% from the field.

    Porter’s defeats Founders League opponent, Kingswood- Oxford, 58-26. The team played great team basketball pulling down 47 rebounds, forcing 20 turnovers and grabbing 15 steals. They shot 41% from the field.

    Porter’s hosted Class A and Founders League opponent, Choate, Wednesday afternoon. After coming off 2 tough games already Porter’s knew they were up against another talented team. Choate game out ready to play and shot 41% from the field. Porter’s continued to battle throughout the game was unable to catch Choate.

    The team continued to struggle only shooting 37% from the field but pulled down 29 rebounds, had 11 steals, 5 assist, and 3 blocks. Porter’s will take on rival, Ethel Walker, Saturday afternoon.

    Despite a tough loss in the last few seconds to a talented Berkshire team, Porter’s came out ready to play from the first whistle. Leading the team was Callie Godfrey ’20 with 13 points, 13 rebounds, 5 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block. Also, in double digits was senior Sarah Zukowksi with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 3 assist and 1 block.

    Porter’s took on a strong Class B opponent, St. George’s, Saturday afternoon. Despite a long journey St. George’s came out ready to play, heading into the locker room up by 8. Porter’s continued to battle in the second half but was unable to take the lead. Porter’s fell to St. George’s 46-41.
     
    Leading the team was senior Sarah Zukowski with 17 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal. Also contributing was Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 (11 points, 11 rebounds, 4 assist, 1 steal), Callie Godfrey ’20 (6 points, 11 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals, 2 blocks), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (4 points, 4 rebounds, 2 steals), Lila Conners ’20 (3 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assist) and Laura Gouvin ’20 (2 points, 1 rebound).
     
    The team pulled down 43 rebounds, had 11 assist and forced 6 steals. Porter’s will have a quick turnover and will take on another talented Class B opponent, Berkshire, at home Monday night.

  • Despite Slow Start Porter's Beats Westminster 47-30

    Porter’s was back on the road to take on Founder League opponent, Westminster. With over a week since their last game, Porter’s game out of the gates slow. In the second half, Porter’s did a better job of spacing the floor and rebounding on both ends of the floor. Porter’s brought home the W beating Westminster 47-30.
     
    Leading the way was senior Sarah Zukowski and junior Callie Godfrey. Zukowksi ‘19 had 14 points, 7 rebounds, and 1 steal. Godfrey ’20 had 14 points, 12 rebounds, 2 assist and 1 steal.
     
    Porter’s saw great minutes from all eight players. The team pulled down 38 rebounds, had a season high of 16 steals and had 15 points off of Westminster’s turnovers. Porter’s will take on Class B opponent, St. George’s, this Saturday at home.

  • Porter's Improves to 4-2

    Porter’s traveled to Cushing Academy to take on the Penguins Saturday afternoon. Despite a slow start Porter’s was able to take home the win defeating the Penguins 40-39. After a sloppy first half, Porter’s did a better job of showing patience on the offensive end leading to better opportunities in the second half. 
     
    Leading the team was Delaney Nwachukwu ’20 (5 rebounds, 2 steals) and Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 (9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals) each with 13 points. Also contributing were Callie Godfrey ’20 (12 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assist, 4 steals), Sarah Zukowski ’19 (9 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (2 points, 3 rebounds, 1 assist), Lila Conner’s ’20 (6 rebounds, 2 assist, 2 steals) and McKenzie Roller ’20 (2 rebounds, 4 assist, 2 steals).
     
    Porter’s dominated the boards outrebounding the Penguins 56-25 securing 15 points off of second-chance opportunities. Porter’s will have a week off before they take on Founders League opponent, Westminster, on Monday, January 14.

    Porter’s improved to 2-0 after beating Kent 55-38. Porter’s played great team basketball with 4 players scoring in double digits. Leading the way for the team was junior Ana Bartkiewicz with 14 points (8 rebounds, 5 assist).
     
    Also, contributing was Callie Godfrey ’20 (12 points, 9 rebounds), Delaney Nwachukwu ’20 (12 points, 5 rebounds), Sarah Zukowski ’19 (11 points, 10 rebounds), Kyla Gallagher ’20 (3 points, 5 rebounds), McKenzie Roller ’20 (3 points, 1 rebound), Lila Conners ’20 (9 rebounds, 2 blocks) and D’vine Straugher ’21 (4 rebounds, 3 assist). Junior Laura Gouvin and Freshmen Frankie LaBow and Maggie Coyne played aggressively giving great minutes.
     
    Porter’s shot 37% from the field and dominated the boards outrebounding Kent 55-41. The team finished the game with 20 assist, 6 blocks and 5 steals. Porter’s will be on the road this Friday, December 14 for the Kingswood-Oxford Holiday tournament.
