Porter's varsity volleyball dropped a tough match to Deerfield in 5 grueling sets. In a back and forth matchup, the game scores were 25-23, 17-25, 25-18, 15-25 and 10-15.
Ellen White '19 had Porter's first double-double of the season with 10 kills and 14 digs. Violet Cue '21 was a strong presence off the bench, providing good defense and smart attacking, while Vitoria Lima '19 had 6 key digs on defense.

Callie Godfrey '20 lead a balanced attack with 12 kills. Sofia Barth '19 added 8 kills and 6 digs, and Delaney Nwachukwu '20 chipped in with 7 kills. Astrid Lipkens '21 guided the offense with 32 assists, while Ellie Whitty '18 picked up 9 digs on defense.
Porter's varsity volleyball opened the season with a 3-1 loss to Northfield Mount Harmon. Porter's came out strong to win the first set 25-16, but dropped the following three sets by scores of 16-25, 20-25 and 23-25.
Astrid Lipkens '21 orchestrated the offense with 24 assists in the first start of her high school career. Delaney Nwachukwu '20 led the team with 7 kills and 3 blocks, while Sofia Barth '19 chipped in with 6 kills and 8 aces. Victoria Lima '19 and Gia Minh-Trang (Tiara) Do '19 made strong defensive contributions off the bench.
Porter's returns to the court on Saturday, September 16 at Deerfield Academy for two matches against Deerfield and Milton Academy.
Porter's is pleased to partner with Select Physical Therapy to work with the Athletic Department and provide support to the school's athletes. Through this partnership, Porter's welcomes Brittany Gustafson as head athletic trainer.
