The Porter's Varsity Ski Team held a competitive edge against ten schools in the BSL Class B GS Championships at Ski Sundown this afternoon. At 1:30 p.m., Race Directors were salting the course in the balmy afternoon sun; by 4:30 p.m. local schools were posting Thursday closings in anticipation of significant area snowfall. We could have used those freshies today, but the course held up in all but a few critical gates. Porter's skiers held up beyond measure, skied aggresively, and took control of a long and rigorous GS track.
Each racer improved in strength, skill, and technical performance over the course of the season. With changeable conditions all winter, we take pride in saying we "Ski the East!" Congratulations to the Varsity Ski Team on a great GS day, and so many thanks to their loyal and hard-working JV teammates! Next up: NEPSCAs at Okemo Mountain on Wednesday, February 15th.
