Miss Porter's Soccer took on Choate, away, on Saturday afternoon. The girls in green started brightly, taking control of possession with Adi Botet '23 gong close to scoring in the 4th minute. Once Choate settled they caused problems with their style of play, the rest of the game was a back and forth contest. Natalie Godoy '21 hit the crossbar midway through the first half and Jenna Hall '20 showed bravery and awareness when 1 on 1 late in the first half. The game was stretched in the second half as both teams went for the winner, Kyla Gallagher '20 was denied by a good save from the Choate keeper and Laura Gouvin '20 has a great opportunity to win it at the end. Both teams were a little disappointed with the tie, but on reflection, it was a fair result. Next up Porter's Soccer (14-0-2) host Putnam Science Academy at 3:30pm for senior day. Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer hosted a well organized and talented Hotchkiss team to Kiki field on a wet Wednesday afternoon. This Class A and Founders League game did not disappoint. Both teams did a good job of making the other play quicker then they wanted too, and although it was a tightly contested first half the girls in green came the closest to scoring. The second half was just as competitive as the first, however, the deadlock was finally broken when Natalie Godoy '21 found Kyla Gallagher '20 whose touch beat the Hotchkiss defense before she scored her 26th of the season. Late in the game Molly Andrews '22 and Jenna Hall '20 prevented the away team from scoring. The whole team defended very well as the team won the Founders League title and Class A regular-season league with this result. Next up, Porter's Soccer (14-0-1) travels to Class A and Founders League opponents, Choate, for an exciting match up.
Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer welcomed Founders league opponents, Ethel Walker, to Kiki field on Saturday afternoon. The visiting team (11-4-1) was coming to Farmington in good form.
Midway through the first half Molly Andrews '22 played the ball off to Kyla Gallagher '20 who opened the scoring with an 18-yard drive. Porter's Soccer controlled the first half and came close to extending the lead, only good goalkeeping and the crossbar keep the score at 1-0 at the half. Sam Halligan '21 played a give and go with Gallagher '20 before hitting a half volley into the bottom corner to extend the lead. It was quickly 3-0 when Gallagher '20 pulled the ball back for Laura Gouvin '20 to chip the keeper from 12 yards out. Gallagher '20 then got her second of the game from 20 yards out before Abby Ray '23 sent an excellent pass to Taylor Hall '22 who found Halligan '21, the latter made it 5-0 from an accurate drive on the edge of the box. The 6th and final goal came in the 79th minute, Gallagher 23' completed her hat trick as she beat two defenders before calmly slowing home that was her 25th goal of the season!

Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer hosted Berkshire on a sunny Wednesday afternoon. Early on Adi Botet '23 was denied by the opposing keeper who pulled off an excellent reaction save. 15 minutes in Natalie Godoy '21 played an accurate reverse pass to Kyla Gallagher '20 who finished when 1 on 1 with the keeper. 15 minutes late that combination struck again, this time Godoy '21 scooped a pass over the back four which Gallagher deftly touched home to put the girls in green 2-0 up. 5 minutes remained in the half when Laura Gouvin '20 played a 40-yard pass to Sam Halligan '21 who unselfishly played the ball across for Gallagher '20 to complete her hat trick and take her tally to 22 for the season. Moments later Molly Andrews '22 spot the defenders as she found Halligan '21 who calmly put the home team n complete control.
The score said the same until 3 minutes were left when Gallagher '20 found Marjorie Plants '21 on the left, Plants '21 beat her defender and then scored from 20 yards out. 1 minute later Gouvin '20 found Halligan '21 who copped h keeper to complete the scoring.

Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer made the long journey on Saturday morning to Class A opponents Convent of the Sacred Heart. The hosts played with 10 players in their half and made it very difficult for the girls in green to find any space n the attacking third, Convent stuck to their game plan and wanted to get their dangerous forward on the ball whenever they won possession. With only 14 fit players, Porter's Soccer had to dig deep to leave Greenwich with a victory. With 5 minutes remaining in the first half, Laura Gouvin '20 found Molly Andrews '22 who struck a first time shot across the keeper from 20 yards out. 5 minutes into the second half a long ball found the CSH target forward who found herself one on one and tied the game up. Porter's Soccer responded well as Andrews '21 delivered an inviting cross the Gouvin '20 finished off with a glancing header to complete the scoring.
Porter's Soccer (11-0-1) now looks forward to three home games in a row, starting with Berkshire on Wednesday at 3:15pm.
Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer hosted last seasons Class A finalists, Loomis to Kiki field. Both teams stayed organized and looked to move the ball in the early stages, and it was Loomis who hit the underside of the bar from 35 yards out in the early stages. 22 minutes into the game Kyla Gallagher '20 won a free-kick, she then played Laura Gouvin '20 through to open the scoring with a brave finish inside the area. Two minutes after the opening goal the girls in green doubled the tally. Lauren Schramm '20 played a long ball to Gallagher '20 who flicked it on to Adi Botet '23 whose excellent first touch beat the last defender before she slotted the ball home. Porter's Soccer made it 3-0 seven minutes into the second half when Sam Halligan '21 played a quick free-kick to Gouvin '20 who hit an unstoppable shot from a tight angle for her second goal of the game. Gallagher '20 got on the scoresheet when she picked up a ball from a Loomis defender, she then beat two players before scoring her 19th goal of the season. With only 9 minutes remaining Taylor Hall '22 showed skill and desire by the corner flag, the ball managed to find Zoe O'Dea '23 who played the ball back to booted '23 who scored her second goal of the game from 20 yards.
The whole team worked hard with and without the ball, Marjorie Plants '21 and Taylor Hall '22 worked tirelessly to prevent any dangerous balls in the flanks. Jenna Hall '20 showed experience and quality in goal and a special mention to Ana Bartkiewicz '20, Meghan Keating '20 and Lauren Schramm '20 who frustrated the Loomis attackers all afternoon.

Miss Porter's Soccer took on Class A opponnts Kent on Saturday afternoon. Laura Gouvin '20 played a first-time pass to Maddie BeVier '23 who took the ball down before scoring her first ever varsity goal. 10 minutes before half time saw Natalie Godoy '21 taken down just putside the area, Sam Halligan '21 made no mistake from 20 yards putting the girls in green up 2-0 at half time. Natalie Godoy '21 made it 3-0 from the spot after Lauren Jezerski '23 won a pk. Molly Andrews '21 burst through midfield to beat the keepr from 8 yards out, moments after Andrews '21 had made it 4-0, Zoe O'Dea '23 scored from the corner of th box to make it 5-0. Marjorie Plants '21 created a simple tap in for Kyla Gallgher '20 before BeVier '23 got her second of the game after another good run on the left-hand side. Next up Porter's Soccer (9-0-1) host Class A and Founders league opponents Loomis at Kiki field.
Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer welcomed last year's Class A quarter-finalists and Founders league opponents, Taft to a wet Kiki Field.
Both teams battled well in the opening stages with Taft looking to create 1 v 1 situation out wide and support their lone forward. 12 minutes in Kyla Gallagher '20 scored her 16th goal of the season when she ran onto a Sam Halligan '21 pass. With only 8 minutes left in the half Laura Gouvin '20 threaded Halligan '21 through to score the second goal of the game. With only three minutes left in the half, the impressive Ana Bartkiewicz '20 won an important 50-50 challenge and found Halligan '21, she released Gallagher '20 who played an excellent pass to Adi Botet '23 who swung in an inviting cross that found the back of the net through a Taft defender. The half time score remained 3-0. The girls in green took only 5 minutes to make it 4-0 when Halligan '21 played Gallagher '20 through on goal. Jenna Hall '20 pulled off two very good saves, one which was held very well in such difficult conditions to preserve the shutout. With 5 minutes remaining, Gallagher '20 found Halligan '21 who scored her second of the game to complete the scoring.

Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer made the hour long journey to play Pomfret School on Saturday afternoon. The hosts are always contesting for postseason honors, are well-coached and organized. The early stages proved to be a battle with both teams up for the challenge. After a couple of long-range efforts from Pomfret, the girls in green began to find their rhythm. Natalie Godoy '21 and Sam Halligan '21 came the closest to opening the scoring. Midway through the first half, Kyla Gallagher '20 played Halligan '21 through on goal who finished well to open the scoring. Soon after Gallagher '20 added to the tally when she contested a ball with the keeper. The second half stayed at 2-0 until the last ten minutes when Marjorie Plants '21 played in a delightful cross for Taylor Hall '22 to score her first of the season finishng a well worked team move. Shortly after Porter's added the 4th when Adi Botet '23 played a clever pass to Natalie Godoy '21 who finished from 20 yards out. Gallagher then ran on to a ball from Godoy '21 to finish the scoring. Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer hosted Class A and Founders league opponents, Westminster (3-1-1) on Wednesday afternoon. Westminster started brightly and was organized on both sides of the ball, in the early stages they asked questions of the girls in green. Midway through the first half Laura Gouvin '20 played a well-weighted pass to Sam Halligan '21 who opened the scoring. Shortly after Porter's Soccer made it 2-0 as Gouvin '20 found Kyla Gallagher '20 who hit the back of the net from 12 yards out. Halligan '21 then struck a beautiful free-kick for her 4th of the season after drawing a foul 22 yards out. Natalie Godoy '21 threaded Gouvin '20 through on goal to make it 4-0 before Marjorie Plants '21 played Gallagher '20 through for her 13th goal of the season. The score was 5-0 at the half and stayed the same for the rest of the game. Each member of the team contributed valuable minutes as the squad welcomed back Jenna Hall '20 and Adi Botet '23 from their injuries. Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer traveled to last years Class A semi-finalists, Worcester Academy in what turned out to be an exciting and physical match up. Some early pressure in the opening stages saw the hosts test the girls in green with several corners. One of those corners fell to a Worcester player who volleyed it first time only for Anna Foster '20 (making only her second-ever varsity appearance) to show tremendous reflexes as she pushed the shot to the side. Within seconds of that impressive save, Lauren Schramm '20 spotted the run of Kyla Gallagher '20 who beat the offside trap to score her 11th goal of the season. The play went back and forth as Natalie Godoy '21 and Sam Halligan '21 started to find space in between the lines. The hosts capitalized on some confusion on the flank to tie the game at 1-1. Soon after Laura Gouvin '20 came close to adding the second, Worcester academy was awarded a PK, fortunately for Porter's Soccer, the chance to take a lead into half time was squandered.
The second half saw Gallagher '20 go close after the Worcester GK pulled off an outstanding save from a Halligan '21 effort that was destined for the top corner. The entire team worked tirelessly and showed a lot of desire to leave Massachusetts with an important result. A special shout out goes to Anna Foster '20 who has shown bravery, composure, skill, and selflessness since going the team.

Miss Porter's Varsity Soccer hosted Suffield Academy on Wednesday afternoon. This contest did not disappoint as fans were treated to a six-goal afternoon. Early in the game, Natalie Godoy '21 found Sam Halligan '21 who played a clever pass to Kyla Gallagher '20 who controlled h ball before opening the scoring. Not too long after Suffield had hit the crossbar, Gallagher '20 returned the favor as she played an inviting ball into the area for Halligan '21 to score her second of the season. At 2-0 Suffield was still a constant threat and managed to score from 25 yards out to half the deficit. Shortly before half time, the score was tied at 2-2 as Suffield played a quick free-kick. The girls in green showed a tremendous amount of resilience to limit Suffield to very few shots, and midway through the first half Laura Gouvin '20 combined with Halligan '21 who was once again the provider as Gallagher '20 scored her 10th of the season at the back post. With 10 minutes remaining Marjorie Plants '21 made another fantastic run and found freshman Lauren Jerzerski '23 who scored from the edge of the area for her first high school career goal. A special shoutout must go to Anna Foster '20 who stepped up and played her first varsity game in goal, without her experience and composure the result would've been different. Next up Porter's Soccer (5-0) travel to last years Class A New England semi-finalists for a 1pm kick-off on their reunion weekend.
Miss Porter's School Varsity Soccer made the long journey to play Class A opponents, Greenwich Academy. The hosts were unbeaten going into this contest.
The game started at an impressive pace as both teams looked to transition in numbers. Porter's found themselves in some very promising positions in the attacking third but failed to execute the right pass in those moments. Laura Gouvin '20, Molly Andrews '22 and Natalie Godoy '21 came closest to breaking the deadlock. With 8 minutes remaining in the half Gouvin '20 played a driven pass into the area for Sam Halligan '21 who was brought down. Godoy '21 stepped up and although her pk was saved she was on hand to follow up the rebound.
The second half was just as entertaining as challenges were flying in from both teams. Jenna Hall '20, Meghan Keating '20, Lauren Schramm 20 and Ana Bartkiewicz '20 were resilient off of the ball and composed on it, they barely made a mistake all game. Marjorie Plants '21 and Taylor Hall '22 worked tirelessly on both sides of the ball in very difficult conditions. Deep into the second half Bartkiewicz '20 won the ball off of the opponents forward and played a clever pass to Kyla Gallagher '20 who beat a defender before showing tremendous desire to win a 50/50 before exchanging pass with Halligan '21. Gallagher '20 then scored her 8th goal of the season to complete the scoring for the day. Gouvin '20 and Andrews '22 helped control the midfield and offered quality in and out of possession. Abby Ray '23 and Zoe 'ODea '23 played their part in maintaining the team's tempo and energy in the important stages of the game.
Porter's Soccer (4-0) now hosts the organized and talented Suffield Academy at Kiki field on Wednesday at 3pm.
Miss Porters Varsity Soccer made the short journey to Founders league opponents Kingswood Oxford. The hoss started brightly and managed to create a couple of good scoring opportunities. Porter's struggled to get used to the surface although Kyla Gallagher '20 and Natalie Godoy '21 both hit the post with good chances. 15 minutes in Laura Gouvin '20 played a ball over the top that Gallagher '20 got to before the keeper to put Porter's Soccer 1-0 up. Two minutes later Taylor Hall '22 took a quick free-kick that circulated through Molly Andrews '22 then Lauren Schramm '20 who played a great pass to Marjorie Plants '21 who beat a defender before assisting Gallagher '20 for her second of the game. 20 minutes in, Sam Halligan '21 spotted Gallagher '20 in space as the latter completed her five-minute hattrick.
The girls in green added another with only 15 minutes left when the impressive Gallagher '20 intercepted a KO goal kick before making it 4-0. KO kept going and showed persistence n scoring a goal only a few minutes later.
Next up is a Class A (away) game vs. Greenwich academy at 1 pm!
Porter's Varsity Soccer took on a well organized and energetic Williston team in their first away contest of the season. Despite dominating possession and playing much of the game in the opponents half, the girls in green had to wait until the second half when Laura Gouvin '20 played through Kyla Gallagher '20 who calmly placed the ball in the far corner. Either side of the goal Porter's had chances to score with Molly Andrews '22, Marjorie Plants '21 and Natalie Godoy '21 coming the closest to extending the lead. Meghan Keating '20, and Ana Bartkiewitz '20 showed tremendous composure when Williston pushed for an equalizing goal in the final few minutes.

Miss Porter’s Varsity Soccer opened the 2019 season with a 7-0 victory against Marianapolis Prep. With less than a minute on the clock Kyla Gallagher ’20 received a driven ball to the right wing and found Sam Halligan ’21 who tapped in from 3 yards to open the scoring. 15 minutes later Marjorie Plants ’21 beat two defenders before cutting the ball back for Gallagher ’20 to get on the score sheet. Two new freshman combined when Adi Botet ’23 played a well weighted ball in between Marianapolis defense for Zoe O’Dea ’23 to take a touch before hitting the back of the net from 10 yards. The second half saw an early exchange between Gallagher ’20 and Laura Gouvin ’20 who beat the keeper fro 18 yards out to make it 4-0. Gallagher ’20 got her second of the game before Ana Bartkiewicz ’20 played a reverse pass for Abby Ray ’23 who found herself one on one with the keeper, the freshman scored to make the score 6-0. Another freshman got in on the act with seconds remaining, Botet ’23 scored after driving with the ball from 40 yards out she beat two defenders before poking the ball into the back of the net to complete the scoring.
The girls in green now turn their attention to a tough away game at Williston on Saturday afternoon.
