MPS Student Named to National Field Hockey Coaches Association All-Region Team

Porter’s Field Hockey Student National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School All-Region Team

Tyler Gaston ’23 is one of sixteen Southern New England players named to the National Field Hockey Coaches Association High School All-Region Team. More than 160 players were selected from 10 different regions within the United States. This is the first time in recent history that a field hockey player from Miss Porter’s School (MPS) has received this honor.  A senior captain, Gaston finished her season with 25 goals and eight assists. She also earned Western New England Preparatory School Field Hockey Association All-Star and New England Preparatory School Athletic Council honorable mention.

Gaston is an international student-athlete who truly models the definition of passion. She has been passionate about field hockey and has spent considerable time developing her skills. She sets a high standard for herself and, in doing so, raises the bar for her teammates and future players. Gaston is a model of humility and sportsmanship both on and off the field. She constantly strives to do better and be her best self.

Despite a sophomore season disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic, Gaston’s contributions to the field hockey program have been tremendous. She has contributed to the overall growth and intensity of the program. While Porter’s scored 38 goals this season, Tyler tallied 25 of them. She closed out her high school career with 37 goals and 15 assists.

Miss Porter’s School is pleased to honor and recognize her outstanding field hockey achievements. We congratulate Gaston for this significant recognition of her talent and hard work and look forward to what she does at the college level.

With contributions from Nelle Andrews P’22, MPS field hockey coach.
