Miss Porter’s School is committed to fostering an unparalleled and diverse academic and residential environment where our students thrive.
We believe tuition costs should not be an obstacle in educating young women.
We offer need-based financial aid, merit scholarships and payment plans to meet the cost of a Porter’s education. We work closely with all families through the entire financial aid process with respect to individual family circumstances.
To create a truly equitable and diverse community, we strive to ensure all qualified applicants have the ability to consider a Porter’s education.

Financial aid helps define an institution and significantly contributes to the composition of the student body and broader Porter’s community. Aid is thoughtfully allocated to eligible students enabling them to have a robust and fulfilling Porter’s experience.
Families interested in being considered for financial aid must apply by January 15.
Families must file U.S. income taxes. The student must be a U.S. citizen or a permanent resident.
To complete your family financial aid application, please login to Clarity, a user-friendly application used nation-wide by submitting an e-signature form. Clarity pulls verified tax documents directly from the IRS, reducing the time and effort to 20-30 minutes.
Families will reapply for financial aid each year their student is enrolled at Porter’s.
Porter’s estimates financial need by reviewing a family’s prior year tax return, W2s, and financial aid application through Clarity, and an analysis of a family’s financial resources. The Porter’s financial aid committee reviews this information to determine the financial aid award and family contribution.
The committee strives to make fair, equitable and just decisions based on the information provided.
The financial aid committee will accept and review your application for any year that your student is enrolled. However, the financial aid budget is set based on the school’s commitment to fund students already receiving financial aid.
There are typically limited additional funds in the financial aid budget. It is important to apply for financial aid at the time of the student’s application to Porter’s.
Both households, including step-parents, must complete the financial aid application and provide their tax returns and W2s.
Yes, parents/guardians will need to provide their business tax returns as well as their personal tax returns and all schedules/forms received.
Families of newly admitted students are notified of financial aid and scholarship decisions by March 10. Returning students can expect their award information with their online enrollment contracts annually in February.
Families can expect financial aid to continue throughout their student’s enrollment, provided the family continues to demonstrate need. The size of the award can vary due to a family’s financial circumstances and tuition increases. Families must reapply for aid each year their student is enrolled at Porter’s.
