2026 Graduation Speaker Sarah Liu

Sarah Klish Liu ’90 – 2026 Commencement Speaker

Sarah Liu ‘90 continues the tradition of Ancients being honored as commencement speakers at Miss Porter’s School (MPS). This year, we are pleased to announce that she will join our newest Ancients, current students, families and friends at graduation on Friday, May 29, 2026.

A native New Englander, Sarah grew up in Farmington and was a four-year day student, where she was active in student council, speech, debate and Thirds soccer.  After graduating, she earned her Bachelor of Arts from Northwestern University and later a Master of Business Administration from Wharton.

Sarah’s career spans 25 years in the life sciences industry, notably as a senior executive in the pharmaceutical, biotech and health tech industries. In this capacity, she has been fortunate to learn from many outstanding women scientists and leaders, all of whom have dedicated their careers to advancing medicine and shaping the changing trajectory of human health and well-being.

Sarah was looking for a way to be a part of something bigger than herself when Chief Advancement Officer Christine Pina visited with her at her office in late 2017. During the conversation that ensued, it became clear that board service would be an opportunity to advance women’s leadership through service to the school’s mission of educating young women to shape a changing world.

Sarah will conclude her time on the Porter’s Board of Trustees on June 30, 2026.  She cites her eight years of service, with the last three as board chair, as an extraordinary gift, allowing her to bear witness to an MPS that is at once steadfast in honoring heritage and tradition and at the same time, transformational in its approach to the intellectual, social and emotional education of its community.

Sarah is looking forward to speaking at Commencement and celebrating our newest Ancients with all of you.
