Ericka Alschuler came to Porter’s in 2019 after almost 20 years working as a school counselor and assistant principal at a public high school in Massachusetts. She lives on campus during the week with her daughter, Anika (‘24), and their cat, Shinobu. On weekends, she splits her time between her home in Massachusetts and her home on campus. Her husband, Alfie, is often on campus on weekends. Ericka loves to read and watch mysteries, knit socks, eat good food, and play board, word, and card games with her family and friends.
In addition to her professional knowledge, Ericka gained first hand experience of the college process as her son applied to college last year. Ericka believes in the power of education to help us live the lives we envision for ourselves, and she is particularly excited about Porter’s innovative and forward-thinking approach to the education of young women and support of equity and inclusion.
