Enrique, Santiago

Director, IGE, Teacher - Languages, Spanish

Mr. Enrique grew up in Burgos, Spain. He earned a master’s degree from Universidad de Valladolid, where he studied French. He earned a second master’s degree at Université de Rennes, in France, and completed doctorate work in quantitative linguistics. After teaching in Spain for one year and in France for two, Mr. Enrique came to the United States and taught at the Taft School and Ethel Walker School before arriving at Porter’s in 2004. After leading many international trips for students, Mr. Enrique founded and directed ArchaeoSpain, an organization providing archaeological fieldwork opportunities in Europe for hundreds of high school and college students.
 
Mr. Enrique lives on campus with his three children. He teaches Spanish and Global Studies, and currently serves as the Chair of the Languages Department. He also serves as International Student Advisor, soccer coach, dorm affiliate, and advisor.
