London-Thompson, Alexandra

Teacher - Arts, Theater Director

Alexandra (Sasha) London-Thompson was raised in Montreal, Canada. Her studies were in French until she attended the all-girls` Miss Edgar’s & Miss Cramps School for high school. Alexandra then went to Phillips Academy, Andover for 12th grade before studying Drama and North American Studies at McGill. Her love for all-girls’ education and boarding school life combined when she began her teaching career at Porter’s in 1999. Alexandra took a postgraduate Shakespearean Acting course at RADA in London and stayed to earn her MA in Shakespearean Studies at the Globe Theatre. Alexandra chaired the Dance & Drama Departments at two schools before returning to Porter’s to teach acting and public speaking. Alexandra’s love of acting, travel, and culture ignited at 11 when she got to star in a feature film shot in Argentina. Alexandra lives on campus with her son, Jasper. They both feel so lucky to live within this incredible community alongside the brilliant, creative, hilarious, and kind people who also call Porter’s home.
