Mooney, Eileen

Teacher - Mathematics

Eileen began teaching at Porter’s in 2008. Her diverse academic background blends philosophy, painting, mathematics and educational psychology. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in philosophy from Boston University, a Master of Fine Arts in painting from Western Connecticut State University, and a Master of Liberal Arts in mathematics for teaching from Harvard University and is completing her doctorate in educational psychology and educational technology at Michigan State University. Her unique fusion of disciplines inspires students to explore the interconnected worlds of math, art and problem-solving. In addition to her teaching, she serves as the dean of the class of 2024 and works in the Q lab, providing math help when needed. She lives on campus with her husband, Brad, her children Nola and Jack, cat Lucy, and dog Stewie. She loves her students and the community that Porter’s provides.
