Maya Silva Thompson ’17 is the associate director of admission and also serves as the communications liaison. 
After graduating from Miss Porter’s School, Maya attended Spelman College, where she earned her degree in comparative women’s studies, with a minor in education. She is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and continues to volunteer.
 
Maya returned to Porter’s in August 2022. One thing she loves about being back is sharing her perspective as a young Ancient of color.
 
A fun fact about Maya is that she loves to travel. She has learned that global exploration exposes us to different cultures and ancient traditions and that through these authentic encounters, we learn to embrace and celebrate our similarities and differences. Maya lives on campus and, with her family, co-parents a fluffy, friendly dog named Houston. Outside of work and travel, she loves reading and cooking.
