Teacher - Humanities; Equity & Inclusion Coordinator

Jamiah Bennett graduated from the University of Connecticut (UConn) in 2020 with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and sociology. While at UConn, she was a resident assistant and group fitness instructor for three years. She also interned at Columbia University’s Double Discovery Center and the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Outside of her college experiences, Jamiah has been a freelance writer for Hearst Media and a member of the Curvy Girls Scoliosis Support Group where she served as the founder of the Connecticut chapter, a mentor, as well as the founder and coordinator of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee. 
 
In her free time, Jamiah enjoys baking, listening to music, and playing games such as Uno and Jenga. 
 
Jamiah comes to Porter’s as a teaching fellow with the University of Pennsylvania where she is a candidate for a master’s in education. Jamiah teaches English, coaches, and lives on campus.
