Doyle, Chris

Teacher - Humanities

Dr. Chris Doyle teaches Humanities 10 at Miss Porter’s School. He holds a doctorate in history. In addition to his role on the faculty at Miss Porter’s, he teaches as an adjunct historian at Fairfield University and the University of Hartford.

Chris loves the challenge of teaching well. Over 37 years, he says, teaching has never bored him, because students change, the culture we operate in changes, and his subject continues to evolve. Chris understands that history education is contested and politicized and that it is more important than ever to teach inclusively, comprehensively, and fairly.

He lives in Simsbury with his wife, Bev. They have two children, Jack and Lee. Jack is a historian at Oxford University.
