Hwang, Miao

Teacher - Languages, Chinese

Ms. Hwang grew up in Taiwan and attended an all-girls’ middle and high school. She came to the United States to study at the University of New Haven, where she earned her bachelor’s degree. She stayed for a master’s program in computer information science and worked as a graduate assistant in the computer lab, assisting students with programming. Ms. Hwang also completed an artificial intelligence program as her research project. She then entered into the STARTALK Chinese Teachers Summer Program. After finishing the program, Ms. Hwang became an assistant to the program for eight years. She also taught at the Hopkins School and Lauraton Hall, then ran the New Haven Chinese School for three years before starting at Porter’s in 2014.
 
Ms. Hwang lives off campus and teaches Chinese and serves as an advisor and advisor to the ConstellAsian Affinity.
