Ortiz, Janet

Associate Director of Admission for Financial Aid

Janet Ortiz (she/her) is the associate director of admission for financial aid at Porter’s. She is also a faculty advisor for the Multiracial affinity group and a ninth grade advisor.

Janet graduated from Vassar College with a B.A. in education and psychology and a minor in art history.

At Vassar, she was a coxswain and captain of the men’s varsity crew team, and this is where her love for the sport began. Janet is always excited for spring sports at Porter’s because it means she can get back out on the water as a coach for the crew team.

Prior to Porter’s, Janet worked in admissions at Wesleyan University; while there, she earned a master’s in liberal studies, concentrating in education and human development.

As a New York City native, Janet is always on the hunt for a good everything bagel with scallion cream cheese.
