Oscar teaches Global Studies: Culture of Conservation — Costa Rica, Spanish 2 and AIS Axis of Change. He is the senior class dean and an assistant coach for the JV soccer team.
 
He loves witnessing the magic of students communicating in a new language and how their minds open to a different culture. Traveling with students to a Spanish-speaking country and seeing them communicate with the people there is something he is passionate about.
 
Miss Porter’s is a fostering community, and learning is very organic here: our students are always willing to learn, to discover new things, and to do that anywhere, not just in the classroom.
 
When not teaching or traveling with students, Oscar indulges his love of guitars, which includes building as well as playing them. He may not be the best guitar player, but playing it brings him joy.
