Simison, Elizabeth

Academic Dean, Teacher - Humanities

Elizabeth Simison, Ed.D., is the academic dean and a member of the Humanities Department. She teaches AIS Cities of the Past, Present, and Future; Literature of the Environment; AIS Borders & Crossings; and Multimodal Composition.
 
Her research focuses on mastery-based learning and its impact on educational policy. She also teaches at the University of Pennsylvania in the Graduate School of Education Independent School Teaching Residency program. At Porter’s, Elizabeth supports the development of a curriculum that is inclusive and diverse, and an assessment framework that is consistent and equitable.
 
She lives on campus with her husband and black lab Hooper, and her favorite movie is Jaws.
