Playing Fields – Porter’s/Farmington Boathouse (for coaches) – 6
Farmington Boathouse at Tunxis Mead Park
From I-84(W),
– Take Exit 39 for CT-4 / Farmington
– At the traffic light at the end of the connector (~1mile), go straight onto CT-4(W)
– Stay on CT-4(W) for 1 mile into Farmington Village then turn LEFT onto CT-10(S)/Main St
– Go past MPS, and after 0.9 mile turn RIGHT at the traffic light onto Meadow Road
– The entrance to Tunxis Mead is ~1.2mile on the RIGHT
– Follow the road past the fields and onto the dirt road at the transfer station
– The boathouse is at the end of the dirt road
You can park your boat-trailer on the grass at the side of the boathouse where there is plenty of room to rig; school buses can park in the large gravel lot just before the boathouse on the left.
From I84(E), I suggest you also take Exit 39 and follow the directions above. This is a little bit further than the most direct route but is just as fast and keeps you clear of any tight turns with the boat trailer.

Because there is limited parking at the lake, we ask that you dispense the following information and directions to all spectators from your school who will be attending the race. It is important that you follow through on this because it is confusing,
inconvenient, and frustrating for spectators who try to get out to the lake, only to be turned away and given directions back to our campus for parking. Well marked spectator parking will be off the main street that goes through our campus (Routes
44/169). It will be in a field adjacent to our Lasell Alumni House, directly across from our main campus buildings. Continuous shuttle service will take spectators the four miles to and from the lake, starting at 1:15 and continuing over the course of
the afternoon. Please note: The shuttle buses do not allow dogs. BELOW ARE VARIOUS DIRECTIONS TO POMFRET SCHOOL FOR SPECTATORS:
FROM THE SOUTHEAST:
Interstate 395 north to Exit 93
At end of ramp turn left onto Route 101 west
Follow Route 101 west to junction with Route 169; turn right
The school is 2 miles up on Routes 169/44; the spectator parking area will be on your right at the top of the steep hill FROM BOSTON AREA:
Mass Pike to Auburn, Exit 10
Follow Route 395 south to Exit 97 (Route 44)
At end of ramp, turn right onto Route 44 west
Travel through town of Putnam remaining on Route 44 to the town of Pomfret (approximately 6 miles)
Take a left at the four-way-stop (staying on Route 44)
One mile down on your left will be Pomfret School and parking for the crew regatta FROM HARTFORD AREA:
Interstate 84 east to Exit 69
At end of ramp, turn right onto Route 74
Follow Route 74 for 7.4 miles to “T” intersection with Route 44
Turn left onto Route 44 and follow for 13.2 miles
School is on Route 44/169; the spectator parking area will be on your right at the top of a steep hill DIRECTIONS FROM POMFRET SCHOOL TO THE RACE SITE:
From campus, take Routes 169 & 44 East one mile to a 4-way stop
Go left at the stop onto Route 97
Go 0.7 miles and take a right onto Quasset Road
Go about 2 1/2 miles (lake will be on your left) until lake ends
When lake ends, take the left hairpin turn onto West Quasset Road
Go 0.2 miles and the entrance to Pomfret’s crew property will be on your left (right before the road turns to dirt)
These directions are for spectators who need to drop off supplies at the race site; parking must be done back at school PROCEDURES AND DIRECTIONS FOR CREW TEAMS ONLY:
When you get to the race site, there will be people there directing you as to where to unload and then park. All shell trailers should come through the stone pillar gates onto the property to unload boats. Team buses will park on the left side of the
road preceding and up to the driveway entrance to our property. You can leave the vehicles parked there throughout the afternoon. There will be an area set aside for your slings inside our property leading down to the docks. Please inform your rowers
that their parents are welcome to drop off coolers and supplies at the boathouse site, but they will have to drive back to campus to park their cars and take the shuttle buses back to the race site. We apologize for this inconvenience, but there just
isn’t enough parking at the boathouse for spectator vehicles. BELOW ARE DIRECTIONS TO THE RACE SITE FOR VEHICLES PULLING CREW TRAILERS:
