The Wolves

We have a wonderful production opening this weekend in the Dance Barn.

There are two different casts (listed below – each cast is named for the actor playing the team captain) so come once or twice as each ensemble brings very different qualities to this excellent show. Each cast is exceptional and not to be missed!

Parents etc. may attend BUT must follow all of the rules posted most recently about guests visiting campus.

The show follows an indoor soccer team of high school girls as they warm up for their Saturday games and engage in everything from silly banter to relationship drama and so much more.

Content warnings:

It includes discussions about death, sexism, sexual violence/rape, violence/murder/genocide, racism, body image and appearance, implied sexual assault, eating disorder, vehicular trauma and fatal accident, bereavement, bullying, references to alcoholism and substance abuse, depictions of injury (concussions, a nosebleeds, and a severe sports-related injury) allusions to suicide, the use of an ableist slur, & explorations of periods/abortion/Plan B.

Additionally, some trigger warnings (these are things that will be shown on stage and may be triggering for some): repeated usage of the r slur (twice in the second scene), a binge eating disorder (end of the second scene), and a panic attack (fifth scene).

Finally, this show may be difficult to watch for any audience members who struggle with auditory/visual processing, as there will be bright stage lights (no strobes!) and a lot of loud, overlapping dialogue, as well as a loud sports whistle to end most of the scenes.

Overall, this show encapsulates all the typical highs and lows of the adolescent experience, and we hope that our informed audience members will find truth and authenticity in the characters’ complex stories and identities. We look forward to seeing you there!
